Puducherry is a Union Territory with one of the highest levels of quality of life in the country with excellent physical infrastructure and almost a hundred per cent literacy level. It is also the place where Sri Aurobindo and the Mother chose to stay and their writings remain a tremendous source of spiritual awakening that emphasizes the progress of humanity and its spiritual brotherhood. A unique experimental city, Auroville, the brainchild of the Mother, whose inhabitants are drawn from all parts of the world, is situated on the outskirts of the city. Puducherry, which still carries several marks of French culture and heritage, was also the place where the national poet Shri Subramania Bharathiar wrote several of his masterpieces that fanned the flames of freedom and also enriched modern Tamil literature. Bharathidasan, a staunch disciple of Subramania Bharathiar, whose poems stressed social revolution and emancipation of women, was also an eminent son of Puducherry. Therefore, it is, indeed, in the fitness of things that this city with such an illustrious history should also have the distinction of housing a Central University that would meet the needs of the people of the Southern states of India in general and those of Puducherry in particular, for higher education.

The University of Pune (formerly known as University of Poona) was established under the Poona University Act, passed by the Bombay Legislature on 10th February, 1948. In the same year, Dr. M. R. Jayakar assumed office as the first vice chancellor of the University.

Shri B.G.Kher, Chief Minister and Education Minister, Govt. of Bombay, took a keen interest in setting apart a beautiful campus for the University. As a result of his efforts, a campus extending over 411 acres was allocated to the University in early 1950.

Muharram History:

Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar. On the first day of Muharram, the Islamic New Year is observed by Muslims. The Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar, and is 11 to 12 days shorter than the solar year. Hence it is a little different from the Gregorian calender that is used in the western nations. When compared with the Gregorian calendar, which is a solar calendar, the lunar month of Muharram shifts from year to year.

The month of Muharram is of great religious significance to Islamic people the world over. It is held to be the most sacred of all the months, excluding Ramadan. The word "Muharram" is often considered synonymous with "Ashura", the tenth day of the Muharram month.

"Ashura" is a highly important day for both sects of Islam - the Shias and the Sunnis. The Shia muslims
believe that Husayn ibn Ali, the grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, became a martyr at the Battle of Karbala on the tenth day of Muharram in 61 AH(680 AD).

The University of Calicut, the second university to be set up in Kerala, came into being in 1968 with the objective of developing human resources in the northern districts of Kerala by extending the reach of higher education and by promoting research in all areas of development with particular emphasis on technology and art and culture of Kerala.

This film is carrying very positive talk as of now. Tollywood circles say that this film would hit bull’s eye at any cost as the final output is up to the expectations. Nagavalli’s screenplay is the major plus point they say. Opening sequences and interval point are bang on target as per unofficial reports. The flashback part is said to be the highlight of the film. In Mysore a family was disturbed by an ancient painting named Nagavalli. The family mumbers are Saraswathi, Neetha and Gowri. They are psychologically affected because of Nagavalli. These family members will decide to contact Ramchandra Acharya a psychiatrist, to solve the problem. All directions point to the huge portrait of Nagavalli (Vimala Raman) and it is observed that the portrait is the cause for this. The investigation also takes back to around 125 years when the king Vijayarajendra Bahaddur (Venkatesh) used to live and how his enmity with Nagavalli has been going on since centuries. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Dubbed Telugu version of versatile actor Kamal Haasan’s romantic comedy Manmadhan Ambu, directed by K.S. Ravi Kumar and produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin, has been titled Manmadha Banam.

Composed by Devi Sri Prasad, the music of the Telugu version will be released shortly. Dialogues are penned by Vennelakanti. The film stars Madhavan, Trisha and Sangeetha in major roles. According to sources, Kamal Haasan plays a private detective hired by Madhavan to go after his love Trisha to confirm her sincerity.
