Dabangg Movie Rating

Dabangg, the new flick has been released today. Salman Khan plays the role of Chulbul Pandey, a cop in Uttar Pradesh who provides hell to criminals and also makes certain that he personally gains something from them. In an amazingly choreographed sequence, he is seen beating a gang of robbers in order to pulp and keep the amount with himself. In fact, the land where he is working is a lawless one and thus he makes the most out of it.

Another well cast actor in the movie is Sonu Sood who plays the role of a local politician as Chhedi Singh. He has thebone to pick with Salman and utilizes the cop’s animosity against all his family as a great ploy to get with him. Then there is Sonakshi Sinha as Rajjo. Just as the villain, you can see the village beauty in her. She makes a really nice debut and stands up to her co stars in most of the scenes.

Malaika Arora Khan, seen as Munni dances amazingly on the beats of Sajid Wajid’s number Munni Badnaam Hui as Chhedi Singh tries hard to serenade Munni. But it is just till Chulbul comes forward.

Despite the movie’s dated appeal, Abhinav Kashyap offers the film a novel like treatment thereby lending zing to it. He plays to gallery brazenly however he keeps in mind that the movie is held together by strong premise and that too of the dysfunctional family which comes together in case of any crisis. Kashyap has indeed shot action scenes with all aplomb, has extracted superb performances from the actors and has kept the speed a bit fast.
