National Institute of Technology Warangal:
National Institute of Technology, Warangal (Deemed University), formerly known as Regional Engineering College, was established in 1959. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation stone for this institute on October 10, 1959, the first in the chain of 18 NITs (formerly known as RECs) in the country.

The Institute is well known for its dedicated faculty and staff, state-of-the-art infrastructure and excellent placement. As a NIT, it is in the processes of improving its standards to the level of a global technical institute. The curriculum has already been changed following the IIT pattern. The infrastructure in the Institute is also being gradually improved. The Institute has received World Bank Assistance of Rs. 11.41 crores under TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme) for its development in 2004.

INSTRUCTIONS AND PROCEDURE FOR ON-LINE APPLICATION FOR AIEEE - 2011


1.Please read the instructions and procedures carefully before you start filling the form.

2.Mode of Examination: There are two mode of examination

* Online Examination
* Offline Examination (Pen & Paper mode) as conducted earlier

3.Conduct of Online Examination: As per the orders of the Min. of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, the online examination would be conducted for a maximum of 1.0 lac candidates in BE/B.Tech only and remaining candidates will appear in Pen & paper mode (off-line) as conducted earlier. The candidates wishing to appear in online examination will apply online only through the AIEEE website and the fees is required to be paid by credit/ debit card only. All informations & instructions for submitting of application for appearing in online examination are available on AIEEE website www.aieee.nic.in. The date & time of examination will be informed seperately to all the candidates applying for online examination.

The online examination would be conducted in the cities mentioned in Appendix-VII of information bulletin. The pattern of question paper & time duration of online examination and offline examination would remain the same and the candidates will be informed by various modes about their center, date & time of online examination. Online examination will be conducted for a maximum capacity of 5000 candidates in a city on first-come-first serve basis. The candidates may opt another city if the seats in a particular city are full. Though, the candidates have been asked to submit their choices of examination cities but the Board has right to change the center. The examination fee for the candidates who intend to appear in online examination is as under.

Fee:
General /OBC RS. 400 + 2% of the examination fee plus service tax as applicable.
SC/ST RS. 200 + 2% of the examination fee plus service tax as applicable
Last Date:
Application can be submitted Online during 23.11.2010 to 14.01 .2011 (5.00 PM).


ONLINE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION:

The online submission of particulars may be made at website www.aieee.nic.in. The candidates should supply all the required details while filling up the online form. On submission of details, a Confirmation page with Registration No. shall be generated. Candidates are required to take printout of Confirmation page and paste photographs, put left hand thumb impression, sign in the space earmarked for the purpose and write down the Residential Address. The confirmation Page is to be sent by Registered/Speed Post to CBSE and payment can be made as follows:
(a) by credit card, or
(b) Demand draft from any scheduled commercial bank.

In addition to Examinations Fee, following Service/Processing Charges will have to be paid by the candidates.
(i) For obtaining Information Bulletin along with Application Form on cash payment…… Rs. 5/- through selling centers as per appendix -IV.
(ii) For online submission of application with payment through Credit Card …… 2% of the examination fee plus service tax as applicable
Candidates applying on-line, they would require to pay examination fee as shown in clause No. 8.3

Instructions for completing and sending the Application Form by post are given in Appendix V. Candidates are advised
to go through the instructions carefully before filling up the application form. Instructions for online submission of
application will be given on AIEEE website www.aieee.nic.in

Request for change/correction in any particulars in the Application Form shall not be entertained under any circumstances. The Board will not be responsible for any consequences arising out of non-acceptance of any
correction/addition/deletion in any particular once filled in the application form whatsoever the reasons may be.

The medical college was formally opened in October 1911, the year when His Majesty King George V and Queen Mary visited India, by the then Lt. Governor of United Provinces - Sir John Prescott Hewett. Every year since 1916, the 'topper' of the Final Professional Examination is decorated with the 'Hewett Medal' in honor of the man who opened the portals of the college to 'Georgians'. Dr KS Nigam was the first Hewett medallist of this college. Col. W Selby was the first Principal and Professor of Surgery and Lt. Col. CA Sprawson was the first physician. To start with the total faculty consisted of 5 professors and 2 lecturers. On the advice of the General Medical Council of Great Britain, a framework of admissions and courses of study was organised. Initially, the college was affiliated to the Allahabad University.

Miss Earth 2010 Winner

Miss Earth India, Nicole Faria, was crowned as Miss Earth 2010 during the coronation night of the 10th Miss Earth beauty pageant on December 4, 2010 held at the Vinpearl Resort & Spa in Nha Trang, Vietnam.




Miss Earth 2010 Nicole Faria advocates for the conservation of fossil fuels and natural resources like water and forests. What brought this young lady to what she is now is her positive outlook in life as well as her strong belief that “success breeds success and that there are no failures, only learning experiences.”

ADMISSION TO THE DEGREE COURSES

The college within its affiliation to the TN Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai offers degree courses in Medicine (MBBS), Nursing (BSc), Physio-therapy (BPT), Occupational Therapy (BOT) and in Medical Laboratory Technology (BSc). NOTE: There is no NRI quota in the college. All admissions are only on the basis of merit, taken overall, in an entrance examination, other tests and interviews.

All candidates from India or abroad with qualifications other than the 'Plus Two Examination of Higher Secondary Board' of Tamilnadu State should obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the TN Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai 600 032, Tamilnadu, in order to be eligible for admission. Only candidates who qualify the written test will be called for the interviews.

Non-Indian nationals will have to obtain a 'No Objection Certificate' from the Government of India by applying through the Principal/Dean of the College to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi - 110 001.
THE MBBS COURSE

The MBBS course is of four and a half year's duration and is followed by one year of Compulsory Rotating Residential Internship. The course begins with a short foundation course exposing students to basic principles of Communication, Ethics and Problem Based Learning. The Undergraduate course in Medicine comprises of three stages. The first stage of 12 months duration consists of the basic sciences of Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry. The next stage is of 18 months duration and comprises Clinical and para-clinical subjects - Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology and Forensic Medicine.

The last stage is of 24 months duration and covers Ophthalmology, Oto-rhinolaryngology, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery and Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

A block posting in Community Health is an integral part of each stage. Posting in mission hospitals and secondary care centres is a unique feature of medical education. The internship lasting for 12 months comprises of postings in Community Health, Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Child Health, Orthopaedics, Casualty and short electives in various specialities. All these are as per the guidelines of the Medical Council of India.

There is an application fee which can be sent as a demand draft, payable at Vellore to the CMC Vellore Association Account. Application forms for the degree courses will be available from mid February of the year until around early April for the sessions beginning in July. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO THE MBBS COURSE

1. Candidates should have passed the qualifying equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology with English. A candidate for admission to “medical course” “must have 60%* marks at +2 level in each of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany and Zoology taken together) and have an aggregate of 140/200 in these subjects, both at qualifying and competitive examinations and should have passed in English”. (*60% in each and 130/200 aggregate for BC, 55% in each and 120/200 aggregate for MBC, and 40% in each and 80/200 aggregate for SC/ST candidates). (BC, MBC, SC/ST as defined by the TN Government; all rules subject to change as per State & University guidelines) Candidates should have passed in all subjects of the qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (Academic) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other equivalent examination in one and the same attempt in the subjects.

2. Candidates should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or should complete the said age on or before 31st December of the said year.

PG & HIGHER SPECIALITY COURSES

Applications are invited in September for post-graduate courses and in March for Higher Specialty (HS) courses.

Selection to Christian Medical College Vellore is based on performance in an entrance examination, clinical and interview. The examination consists of a variety of multiple choice questions, distributed in all disciplines of Medicine.
